Amsterdam, 19 May 2008 - The Dutch visual communication agency Koeweiden Postma has been awarded three Merits at the European Design Awards. The communications style for concert hall De Doelen was awarded twice, both in the categories 'Company Implementation' and 'Posters'. The third Merit was for the packaging for HEMA's Cooking & Tableware line.
The European Design Awards Ceremony was held for the second year on May 18th in Stockholm. In 28 categories agencies from 18 European countries were awarded. The jury consisted of representatives of 12 European design magazines.
For the Rotterdam concert hall De Doelen Koeweiden Postma in 2007 developed a new communications style, that brings unity in all communication while at the same time leaving lots of space for variation. An octagonal frame, derived from the ground plan of the concert hall itself, is the basis for the style. Within this iconic form each concert can be announced in a specific atmosphere.
Within a long range of packaging design for retail chain HEMA, Koeweiden Postma last year developed packaging for a line of cooking and tableware as well. For this different ingredients were scanned and in monochrome colours used in different compositions. These compositions reflect different product groups within the Cooking & Tableware line.
