Cruyff Court Molenbeek connecting the Youth

FB-cruyff-court-playandpeace

After the attacks of March 22, 2016 and the death of Johan Cruyff, two days later, Unico van Kooten founded PlayandPeace together with Ahmed Larouz from Amsterdam. The platform has the objective to realise a Cruyff Court in Molenbeek. A Cruyff Court is a modern version of the timeless neighbourhood football pitch.
The Cruyff Courts offer children a safe place to come together, play sports and incorporate at the same time central themes like respect, personal development and responsibility. In total, there are already some 226 Cruyff Courts in 20 countries worldwide.

Thanks to the support of the community of Molenbeek a location has been found within Parc de Muses near the Edmond Machtens Stadium, home of soccer club RWDM. Rotary Cantersteen, together with Rotaract International Brussel and PlayandPeace have started a growfunding campagne to collect an additional amount of more than 20,000 EUR.

Rotary Brussel Cantersteen is committed to double the amount raised. In addition, Rotary Cantersteen is engaged to double the total amount collected through the collaboration with the Rotary Club Dordrecht.
